Medical Genetics Symposium 2020 (MGS2020)

With deep regret the MGS2020 Committe has informed that the Medical Genetics Symposium (MGS2020) in Selangor, Malaysia this August 11th -12th, 2020 has been cancelled.

With many countries including Malaysia recommending social distancing and avoidance of large gatherings for this year due to Covid-19, we know it is for the best to cancel the symposium with the health, safety and well-being of our guests as our main concerns.

Summary

The Medical Genetics Symposium 2020 (MGS2020) will be held at the Universiti Putra Malaysia, Serdang, Malaysia from 11th to 12th August 2020. The theme of the symposium is Current Trends in Genetics for Health and Life Sciences. This symposium highlights the application of current advancement in genetic tools for research in health and life sciences targeting for an impactful transformation of the current medical practice. The MGS2020 will gather health professionals and scientists to present their latest research in medical genetics and discuss how to integrate the new findings to improve health outcomes. MGS2020 covers a wide range of topics including cancer genetics, neurogenetics, proteomics, transcriptomic, next-generation sequencing, molecular genetics, pharmacogenomics, metal disorders, gene editing, stem cell, regenerative medicine and nanotechnology. Given the broad topic covers in this symposium, this special issue will be of interest to researchers not only in medical genetics but also in cancer, neurology, biomedicine and other related fields. It is also hoped that through this special issue, rapid dissemination of research findings in medical genetics research can be achieved.

Aims and Scope of the Special Issue

The purpose of this Special Issue is to showcase the latest developments and future directions of the medical genetics research in health and life sciences. This special issue publishes research not only in human studies but also on various model organisms including animal, fungal and bacterial. Our emphasis is on studies of broad interest that offer significant understanding in the biological processes, diagnostic and treatment of genetic diseases.

Our goal for this special issue is to bring together a wide range of medical genetics research into one issue for the benefits of a broader interdisciplinary audience including academics, practitioners and consultants.
